Medical Imaging Technologist, Medical Radiological Technologist / Scientist (nomenclature varies from place to place yet nature of job/responsibility remains the same) is the only recognized expert in broad range of the production of medical diagnostic images with the use of ionizing or non-ionizing radiations. Radiological Technologists / Scientist organize many of the procedures, which are undertaken in Radiology/Medical Imaging Departments. They execute radiographic procedures, such as CT Scans, MRIs, Angiography, General Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Mammography. Additionally, they must know how to perform emergency procedures using Radiographic Units, monitor patients’ vital signs, perform surgical asepsis, and more.

FIRST YEAR: Basic Anatomy, Basic Physiology, Basic Biochemistry, General Pathology, Behavioural Sciences, Islamic studies/Ethics Pakistan Studies,  Computer Education

SECOND YEAR: 1. Regional & Imaging Anatomy 2. Radiation Sciences & Technology 3. General Radiology 4. Medicine 5. Clinical Pharmacology 6. Biostatistics

 

THIRD YEAR: 1. Mammography & Special Radiological Techniques 2. Ultrasound & Echocardiography 3. Nuclear Medicine 4. Angiography & Cardiac Imaging 5. Surgery

FOURTH YEAR: 1. Computed Tomography (CT) 2. Magnetic Resonance Imaging 3. Research Methods & Project 4. Medical So

Application Criteria:

Candidate must have passed FSC/HSSC(pre-medical)/ A-level with at least 60% marks.

 

Candidate must have passed MDCAT with at least 60% marks.

Aggregate Formula:

MDCAT: 50%

FSC/HSSC(pre-medical)/ A-level: 50%

 

Course Duration:

4 Years

Number of Semesters:

8 (eight)

Fee:

Registration Fee:  Rs 10,000 (Only in 1st semester at the time of admission)

 

Tuition Fee:  Rs 40,000 per Semester

Hostel Facility

Hostels are present in Faisalabad Medical University for MBBS and BDS students, but Allied Health Sciences students are NOT ALLOWED to stay in hostels and no separate hostel facility is provided to them by university.

However, some private hostels are located nearby, which can be availed by Allied Health Sciences students.

 

Transport Facility

Transport Facility is present in Faisalabad Medical University for MBBS and BDS students, but Allied Health Sciences students are NOT ALLOWED to use this transport facility.

Career Opportunities Upon Graduation:

The BS Radiography & Imaging Technology (MIT) graduates find employment in various medical imaging departments in hospitals, medical centres, outpatient clinics, and research facilities. Advancement in this field may involve promotion to supervisory and administrative positions, equipment and pharmaceutical sales, product support, and teaching. So far FMU graduates of MIT Program are immediately employed with in country and in the Middle East therefore this program has 100% absorption There are numerous opportunities for a graduate of B.Sc. (Hons) MIT such as MS/ M. Phil, PhD and Specializations Courses available worldwide. Graduates are also eligible to apply for the foreign and local scholarships for higher studies, as offered.
